Halloween may be considered by some to be the unholiest of nights, but that doesn't mean that you can't get in touch with your spiritual side anyway! If you're looking to put together a nun Halloween costume this year, here's how to get started:
For a classic nun, get a nice dark frock that covers your whole body; this will serve as the nun's habit.
Next, get a dark head cover to lay over your hair for the nun's veil. You might also want to wrap your head in white fabric (technically called a coif) underneath the veil.
You can also buy a pre-made costume if you don't feel like finding the individual components.
Alternatively, you could also visit your local fabric store and make your own nun's habit if you want something unique.
If you don't want to be just an average nun you might consider being a zany singing nun like the ones in Sister Act. Obviously, you're going to need a nun's habit. These are easy enough to find at a party store because nun costumes are very common for Halloween. Choose your favorite one on the rack, or mix and match different elements that are available.
Just like in the movie, "Sister Act," you need to set yourself apart from a normal nun who spends her days strictly inside the confines of her convent. Instead, go a little crazy! Put on some cool shades and play a few gospel songs on your electric guitar. Come to the party on a tricked-out BMX bike and do some tricks for people. Better yet, be a skateboarding nun and grind some rails outside. Use your imagination and make your nun character have a zest for life that few nuns have.
Why not get a whole convent together if you can? Recruit some friends (men and women) to help you in your cause to have the coolest nunnery ever. Run down the street together and have an impromptu dance-off.
Ready to praise the lord and have fun at the same time? Dress up as a nun this Halloween and help people have a godly good time.
Just like the classic nun, your going to need the basic nun outfit. However what will set you apart form normal looking nuns is your face - it should be some inhuman color. Perhaps a gray or jet black shade that blends in with the night works well.
You can also add other colors here and there and be sure to were dark red or gray lipstick. If you want to get in touch with your demonic side, you can buy a demon makeup kit or even get a scary demon mask.
