Five Party Games For Halloween Costume Ideas
Halloween is about having fun, and keeping your kids entertained. If you have a bunch of energetic kids to entertain and on a limited budget, you might try out some low budget game ideas. Remember, it dose't take much to keep your kid amused as long as you are enthusiastic about the game.
Don't Smash The Pumpkin Race
You need one plastic spoon per child, one hard boiled white egg per child (decorated like a pumpkin). To decorate hard boiled white eggs, leave in shell. While still warm to the touch, use a black crayon to draw a jack o lantern face on the eggs. Then, one at a time, gently drop eggs into a cup with orange egg dye. (To make orange egg dye, use 1 teaspoon orange food coloring or (1/2 teaspoon red food coloring and 1 teaspoon yellow food coloring), 4 tbsp. white vinegar, 1/2 cup cold water and mix.) Wait 2 minutes. Remove egg and allow to air dry.
For the race, decide on a start and finish line. Give each child a spoon and an egg. Have each child put the spoon in their mouth and balance the egg on it. The first child to get to the finish line without dropping the egg wins.
Blood Lake Fishing
Get a large plastic storage tub. The kind they sell at Walmart works well. Put the tub where you want the game to be. Fill tub 3/4 full of water. Add 2 whole bottles of red food color and a few drops of black food coloring to the water. Fill small zip lock freezer bags with candy and/or small toys. Sink the bags to the bottom. Once zipped, the items inside will stay dry. Children line up - The first in line gets blind folded, then gets to reach into Blood Lake and fish for a prize. When it is time for clean up, use a pan to bail out the water and dump down the sink.
Have an adult dress up as a zombie. Hang an old sheet or plastic tarp against the wall. Put another on the floor. The adult stands on the sheet or tarp and in front of the other one. Line the children up about three feet away from the adult. Give each child a paper plate with a whole bunch of whipped cream sprayed on it. Each child that hits the zombie gets a prize. Kids of all ages and adults love this game. Clean up is a breeze. Just throw away the sheet, tarp and have the adult change out of the costume.
Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe
Paint 5 mini pumpkins with the letter O. Paint 5 mini pumpkins with the letter X. Use duct tape to crate a tic-tac-toe grid on the floor. Two children can play at a time using normal tic-tac-toe rules. The winner gets a fun Halloween prize.
Halloween Punch Game
You will need: A sheet of cheap plywood or particle board. A jig saw. White Paint. A bunch of large plastic orange and black cups. Duct tape. Scotch tape. Orange and black tissue paper. Black permanent marker. Toy or candy surprises to fit in each cup. Take one cup, place it on the board. Draw around the bottom of the cup. Repeat.
Try to do an even pattern in rows with a little space between each. With the jig saw, carefully cut out circles to create holes. Paint the board white, after cutting out the wholes. Fill each cup with a prize. Tape tissue paper over the top of each cup. Using duct tape, tape the cups into the holes. Each child lines up. They get a turn to punch the tissue paper out of a cup and get the prize inside.
