Gross Halloween Treats

If your going to have a successful Halloween bash for your friends and family your going to need fun party games and of course serve scary and great tasting snacks. Here's a few ideas on how to make gross treats, candy apples, pumpkin bread, and cupcakes.

Gross Brains

A gross looking recipe that uses Jell-O is “yucky brains” (one of our personal favorites). To create “yucky brains”, you need to place cheese in a bowl, add berries to the cheese (mix them up good), then add food coloring. Now add Jell-O (I prefer the color blue) onto a plate, pour blueberry syrup on it for extra flavor, then add the mixture of cheese and blueberries, from before. You've now created a brain that looks disgusting, but tastes great. This recipe will surely be a hit with your kids, or served at your adult Halloween party.

Since Jell-O comes in multiple colors, you can use your creativity to create many different Halloween treats. Try mixing multiple colors together. When you use gelatin, you can definitely make some interesting Halloween treats that taste great.

Spaghetti Brains

Spaghetti is another favorite food that works for Halloween. It looks and feels creepy if you put the spaghetti into a shell-like bowl. Be sure to add real thick tomato sauce that looks like blood. Be sure to tell your kids that it's real brains inside the bowl just to freak them out. It's a disgusting, yet fun Halloween activity.

Jack-O-Lantern Meat Pie

Who says Halloween is all about sweets? You can also bake Halloween treats that resemble food. If you have some time to spare and are a good cook, I recommend making a Halloween Jack-O-Lantern Meat Pie. First, cook the meat, (ground-round) in a skillet and cook for about 10 minutes. Season as you want.

Next, create separate biscuits and roll them out into 4 inch circles. Press them into muffin tops and bake for about ten minutes. Cut multiple pieces of cheese into 3 inch circles and cut Jack-O-Lantern faces into them. Fill the biscuits with meat and put a slice of cheese on each. Congrats, you've now created meat pies with a Jack-O-Lantern face. Delicious and festive.

Try out and enjoy some of these Halloween recipes. I am confident that you will love making them and eating them. These treats make Halloween a special, memorable holiday that's fun for the whole family.
